Inspection Drone
I designed this X-8 Octocopter in Solidworks 3D CAD Modeling software. It had custom heat pipes to funnel heat away from the very powerful LEDs arrays that would flood light up, forward and downwards. This was designed to photograph and map large indoor underground silos autonomously. Managing the cast light rays from the LEDS to ensure they would not project shadows from the drone frame itself onto far walls so that the onboard computer vision sensing systems would not be confused was a fun challenge where CAD modeling played a vital role.
