Navibelt, a belt for the blind.

This belt was designed to be a digital interface to guide blind people. It functions akin to if someone was holding a blind person by their hips and gently applying pressure in the direction they should walk. Also sort of similar to guiding someone by the hand, but with a low profile integrated wearable belt instead. This project needs to be revisited to slim the wiring and also couple to the appropriate perception system & direction planner, but at least this serves as a cheap effective machine to human interface mechanism for quickly communicating human movement direction intent.

Wearer of belt has 10 subdivisions of granularity for direction around the full 360 degree spectrum. Intensity of each direction input to the wearer can be varied by any microcontroller, for example a small Arduino.
